2018 World Qualifying Points

September 2017
to June 2018

The world’s greatest Duelists will convene in Japan this August to determine who is the strongest of them all, and you could be one of them!

What are World Qualifying Points?

The World Qualifying Point system allows Duelists to earn ranking points by competing in WCQ: Regional, WCQ: National and WCQ: Continental level tournaments throughout the year. Duelists can also earn points by competing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series. These points are tallied over the course of the year with the highest ranked Duelists earning their invites to this year’s World Championship.

How does the system work?

Duelists earn points by reaching high-ranking positions in the tournament types mentioned above. Certain events will offer more points than others, usually those with a higher number of Duelists competing overall. Please see our FAQ for full details.
