KONAMI DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT ULTIMATE DUELIST SERIES INVITATIONAL - SOUTH AMERICA 2016 TO ECUADOR

El Segundo, Calif. (March 23, 2016) – Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. (KONAMI) is pleased to announce that official competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Dueling is coming to Guayaquil, Ecuador March 26 and 27 with Ultimate Duelist Series Invitational - South America 2016. The company detailed this exciting new tournament series for the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG in April 2015.

The Ultimate Duelist Series (UDS) is a new addition to KONAMI’S Organized Play program, as it not only adds new tournament experiences to the variety already available, but it rewards Duelists for their participation in other Organized Play programs. The UDS truly gives Duelists an opportunity to play competitively year-round.

The UDS Invitational is open only to qualified Duelists who have earned a minimum requirement of UDS Points. Duelists earn UDS Points by competing in UDS Qualifiers held at their local Official Tournament Stores (OTS) and at Public Event UDS Qualifiers held at YCS and WCQ tournaments. Duelists will also earn UDS Points at other Sanctioned Events such as Regionals, YCS, and OTS Championships. The two-day event  welcomes Duelists from all over the region to attend and compete for exclusive prizes, and spend the weekend Dueling, trading, and hanging out with hundreds of other Yu-Gi-Oh! fans. Additionally, Duelists can visit the points leaderboard at http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/ultimateduelist/udsrankings.html.

The UDS Invitational - South America 2016 is a Constructed event, which means each Duelist must bring his or her own Deck in order to compete. Decks must be constructed according to the latest Advanced Format guidelines, including the new Adjusted List which went into effect February 8. For more information, Duelists can visit http://www.yugioh-card.com/en/limited/index.html.

In addition to the UDS Invitational - South America 2016, there are many other Public Event opportunities during the weekend including Dragon Duels, specifically for Duelists born in 2003 or later, and Regional Qualifier tournaments. Additionally, Konami will hold ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Battle City, Starter Deck, Structure Deck, Win-A-Mat, Beta Format Win-A-Mat, Yu-Gi-Oh! Day, UDS Qualifiers, and Public Event Playoff tournaments. Competitive or casual, there is something for everyone at the UDS Invitational weekend.

Registration for UDS Invitational - South America 2016 day one will begin Saturday, March 26 at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 9:45 a.m. Day two will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 27. Upon registering, each Duelist will receive one UDS Invitational Lanyard, and one UDS Invitational Pin (while supplies last).
